Saint James

St. James

O Gentle Jesus, Saint James was one of Your first apostles, but he started out as a very impulsive, self-centered man. He dared to ask You for a place of honor in Your kingdom, and he wanted You to destroy the villages that had rejected You, but eventually he developed a true understanding of holiness. I ask him to pray that my humility grows stronger than my pride, that I submit my will to Your will, and that when I speak, my words reveal Your gentleness and love. Restrain me when I want to rush ahead, and give me a broader perspective when I’m seeing things through a narrow, limited view. Saint James, pray for me. Amen.

Saint Bridget of Sweden

St. Bridget of Sweden

Beloved Lord Jesus, Saint Bridget first served You as a wife and mother, taking good care of her family, helping her Church, and getting involved in her community. After becoming a widow, she began to receive revelations about Your passion and suffering. I ask her to intercede for the widows and widowers in my family, church and neighborhood, that they become more fully aware of Your closeness. Show them their purpose in life and inspire them to stay actively involved. Help them to realize how important they are to You and let their value become known to all those around them. Saint Bridget, pray for us. Amen.

DAILY GOSPEL

"Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." John 6:68

Monday, 22 July 2013 Saint Mary Magdalene - Memorial

Song of Songs 3:1-4.

On my bed at night I sought him whom my heart loves - I sought him but I did not find him. I will rise then and go about the city; in the streets and crossings I will seek Him whom my heart loves. I sought him but I did not find him. The watchmen came upon me as they made their rounds of the city: Have you seen him whom my heart loves? I had hardly left them when I found him whom my heart loves. I took hold of him and would not let him go till I should bring him to the home of my mother, to the room of my parent.

Psalms 63(62):2.3-4.5-6.8-9.

O God, you are my God whom I seek; For you my flesh pines and my soul thirsts Like the earth, parched, lifeless and without water.

Thus have I gazed toward you in the sanctuary To see your power and your glory, For your kindness is a greater good than life; My lips shall glorify you.

Thus will I bless you while I live; Lifting up my hands, I will call upon your name. As with the riches of a banquet shall my soul be satisfied, And with exultant lips my mouth shall praise you.

That you indeed are my help, and in the shadow of your wings I shout for joy. My soul clings fast to you; your right hand upholds me.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 20:1-2.11-18.

On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, "They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don't know where they put him." But Mary stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been.

And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they laid him." When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus.

Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni," which means Teacher.

Jesus said to her, "Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and what he told her.

Eucharist As Your Spiritual Food

June 6, 2013

If you ponder these things in your heart which you don't understand, you will find answers. I reside in your hearts. Not your mind but your deepest parts of your spirit and heart. Eucharist is the best way that I can reach you. You must pray and fast before communion so you are pure to receive me. Many healings will take place in your heart if it is pure and clean. I can't reside in a dirty place. I can not touch you or change an unclean heart. Confession will cure all of you of these ailments. You are all becoming spiritually sick because you are not relying on Eucharist as your spiritual food. There are many monks in the world now who almost solely rely on Eucharist as their food. Faith can bring about this miracle for you. It is a mystery to understand, but I have instilled a yearning in your heart that you must listen to. Do not rely on your physical yearnings. Deny these by all means. They will lead you astray from the true miracle of Eucharist. Start this day preparing for the next time you receive me. You will notice a difference upon your reception. Love always.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

Our Father, Mount Carmel is where Elijah proved that You are greater than pagans gods. Nearby in Nazareth, Our Lady lived in piety and contemplation. Later, the Carmelites became a religious order devoted to contemplative prayer under her protection, and when its general, Saint Simon Stock, prayed for her help, she appeared to him and showed him a scapular for his order to wear. She said: "It is the sign of salvation, a safeguard in dangers, a pledge of peace and of the covenant." I ask Our Lady to pray for my protection, help me to live out my salvation, and fill my life with Your peace. Blessed Mother, pray for me. Amen.

Saint Faustina, intercede for me

Saint Faustina, Intercede for Me

Saint Faustina, you told us that your mission would continue after your death and that you would not forget us. Our Lord also granted you a great privilege, telling you to “distribute graces as you will, to whom you will and when you will.” Relying on this, I ask your intercession for the graces I especially need (mention your need) Help me, above all, to trust in Jesus as you did, and thus glorify His Mercy every moment in my life. Amen
